(ENDE237) Arkon - Bitter Harvest

In late 2003, Australian dark drum n bass/industrial hardcore giant "Paul Blackout" took over influential Perth industrial hardcore/broken beat label Hardline Rekordingz. Moving it to Newcastle/Sydney and turning it into a dark drum n bass label.

It's second release HL14, was a record called "17th Angel" by a mostly unknown producer named Arkon.

Paul Blackout and Arkon had known each for a decade or more by that point. Having both been avid dnb producers for a few years and before that cutting their teeth in Perth's industrial music scene in the band "Closed World Assumption"

Arkon never spread his wings quite to the degree of Paul. Choosing to only release a few 12 inches and some web releases with labels aside from Hardline like Intransigent, Black Hoe and Distortion Recordings. These releases still showed that Arkon was a hidden treasure in the world of dark dnb and heavy amen smashing dark jungle and a sonic force to be reckoned with.

Having been massive fans and followers of Arkon since the early 2000s. ENDE Records has managed to persuade him to release some of his 250 or so unheard of tracks from the early to late 2000s when dark dnb was a bass deep, disturbing universe of mindblowing experimentalists like DJ Hidden, Current Value and Evol Intent.

"Bitter Harvest" is a collection of 18 previously unreleased tracks by Arkon that showcase his thick, low rumbling basslines, supersonic breakbeat virtuosity, degraded pads and sweeping acid synths.

This is indeed a score for ENDE Records, fans of classic dark drum n bass and lovers of hard and brutal dnb destruction.

Sit back and drown in the chaos.
