about

(ENDE126) Noistruct - The Transgressor

Over a year in the making. Australian breakcore producer Noistruct births his new album "The Transgressor"

Assembled from tracks produced from mid 2015 to January 2016 and mixed and recorded as a continuous session with assorted noise loops, sampling and aural ephemera that suited the theme of the album. Originally supposed to be only 8 tracks but expanded into something more ambitious......or maybe just pretentious.

The result is something of an epic journey or perhaps just an epic endurance of breakcore, dark drum n bass, darkstep, jungle, abstract hip hop and noise for a running time of almost two hours which is a lot to ask for from a listener and just by telling you this much he's doing more than both Guns n Roses and Prince to warn you of the length of it's self indulgent ride.

ALBUM BIO:

"Similar to 2014's "Living Stealth" on Speedcore Worldwide it has personal themes acting as a cathartic exorcism or venting of various issues like drugs, mental illness, self denial and self improvement, broken friendships, dead relationships, racism, ageing, mass sedation of the populous through media, internet and prescription medications, social isolation, patriarchal expectations of women, the occult and people who use it as a badge of social stature, blinding positivity in the face of adversity to thoughts on the state of breakcore and where it's been where it is and where it's going. As well as tributes to those friends who despite being separated by distance seem to come through more than some of the ones physically accessible.

All delivered with the usual heapings of self depreciating black comedy, morbidity and sarcasm.

In the end I decided to incorporate every track I'd produced that suited the concept (regardless of where I ended up reserving it for release) and then recorded it into one long mix, so after track separation it still has a kind of flow. Well...I think it does. It's probably just painfully long and self indulgent. I can't think of my music in terms of releases anymore for various labels. Too much of it reflects certain mindsets and time periods so I took everything that I had planned for this album at one stage or another and put it in.

There's tracks that will still appear on forthcoming CD releases and some older ones too that were produced around the time I started developing "The Transgressor". I decided to just think of my tracks as suitable to release anywhere and anyhow, regardless of whether they have been released before or not.

there is also an image folder of designs, artwork, demotivational antimemes, poignant or random photos, screencaps of scene abuse and slander, abstract stills and visual ephemera that goes with the album collected, assorted and manipulated by myself and Teal Cereghino.

Is it all a bit over the top? Probably. Or maybe even definitely. But I get bored of just gluing tracks together for releases, so sometimes I want to do something different and outdo something I've already done. So it might not be like most breakcore albums in content, length or intent but that's what I like about it"
