(ENDE63) 3 Past 3 - Skornsteen EP

3 Past 3 is a breakcore/noise producer from the Netherlands. A longtime supporter of the local breakcore, noise and metal scenes there as well as a drummer and contributor to the aforementioned scenes himself. He has been producing for a few years now under this and other names.

The "Skorsteen EP" is a re-release of a self released cassette he produced in 2010 and originally released in 2011. 4 tracks of staggering old school abrasive and acerbic breakcore. Fast, heavy and uncompromising. jagged broken beats, dissonant samples and erratic time signatures. This is the type of jarring and crunchy drumbeat style that is rare these days.

Produced during a stint in a mental hospital on an old laptop with MIDI out, a sampler and drum machines recorded into a cassette recorder. So the mental state of the producer was a big influence on the sound. And the sound of the release and the production methodology comes out as cathartic and expressive as you would expect from someone in that environment.
