(ENDE48) HyperEx_Machina - Over The Edge

HyperEx_Machina is the ambient/beatless electronic pseudonym of breakcore veteran UK producer Steve Munslow aka "Hyperdriver"

Beginning in 2001. He's released 18 CDRs, mostly through the event recorded makeshift label "Ambientlive" which recorded ambient sets at shows throughout Europe. HyperEx_Machina already had a track "Divine Flow With Cold Joy" on the ENDE compilation "Senza Misura III" which is in my opinion anyway one of the best ambient tracks ever written.

"Over The Edge" is his first full length album not just for ENDE Records. It's his 19th release and first in 12 years! A single improvised recording from April 2015. It's a continuous exploration of electronic sounds, drones and melodies. Remniscient of early synth pioneers and masters like Phillip Glass, Vangelis and even Mike Oldfield.

A release with more in common with the original idea of electronic music than any contemporary ambient idealism. More like a soundtrack or score than a particular genre specific concept. More at home with the synth prog producers than the droners and isolationists.

So it's a single listen experience. Something that has been done on ENDE before but not with music of this genre or influence. It's quite a change for us and a welcome one.
