(ENDE176) Mandark - Parasomnia

"Parasomnia" is the first full length album from Australian dark ambient/drone/noise producer Mandark.

Originally released in 2011. It is a collection of drone, dark ambient, synth compositions and soundscape tracks recorded live in one take between 2002 and 2005 in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.

Inspired by dark ambient producers like Final, Lull, Gil Melle and Thomas Koner as well as film scores and sounds heard in dreams (or auditory hallucinations during hypnagogia). Some are more like spontaneous musical compositions but most of these are just recording and manipulating freeform sounds. All of these tracks were produced in states of insomnia or drug psychosis. Extreme tiredness to painful drug comedowns to just really stoned on good hydro...really.

Almost all were recorded between 2am and 6am.

All tracks produced with PC software and recorded directly into Soundforge except "Oblivion" recorded live with MIDI keyboards, homemade VSTs and sound modulators directly into Soundforge.
