(ENDE154) Dark Organics - Harmonic Data Systems

Dark Organics is the breakcore/IDM project of Newcastle Australia born/Melbourne based visual artist and painter Bryan Itch - who is also one half of the Newcastle digigrind band "Patricider" with Brendon Brooks aka Epsilon. Although a regular fixture in Newcastle and Melbourne electronic scenes in the 2000s. His profession as a full time artist and painter has taken centre stage as his primary passion for the last few years.

His first EP "Bio Legacy" released on the Eps666.net label and a few tracks on myspace back in the day have so far been his widely accessible output - until now.

"Harmonic Data Systems" was his first self released CDR album put out in Newcastle back in 2001. Now re-released to the general public here at ENDE Records for the first time in 15 years!

Opening with the sample heavy "modal thesis - religious zealots" the influence of Newcastle's infamous cut n paste music scene can already be heard. The album fuses different samples from a variety of sources with orchestral pads, minimal drum machine rhythms, breakbeats, VST instruments and grinding saw melodies. Ranging from downtempo chillouts to breakcore smashers. For those familiar with the limited release "Bio Legacy" (most releases on Eps666.net were limited release) it's not as dark and brutal as that EP. But it still has a subversion and humour typical of his work.
