about

(ENDE12) Cambion - Collected 2002-2006

Cambion is a Perth born electronic producer who has been involved with electronic music in a number of guises for over 20 years. Beginning in a number of bands including infamous Perth industrial group "Heratech" and death industrial band "Zoo Transmissions". "Cambion" however has been his moniker since the late 90s. Something to explore his own ideas for electronic music taking influence from different musical passions from thrash metal to breakcore to early IDM and freeform noise.

After a multitude of live shows, collaborations and remixes for local bands he released his first album "Uncomfort" in 2002. Copies of this release were almost immediately sold out at it's launch show, having by then impressed local producers and DJs with his unique take on dnb, IDM, breakbeat and industrial dance.

Later, disillusioned by Perth's limited scene and needing a change. He moved to Melbourne where he managed and booked shows for infamous late night bar "Pony". It was here he started his own regular showcase night for the darker and weirder side of techno "Uncomfort" named after his locally successful debut. Along with longtime friends and fellow WA expats Anubis Complex, Modular, Tepid and Jaek. He formed the label and collective "Graylands" (named after Perth's infamous mental asylum).

Heavily inspired by his discovery of breakcore through 8-Bit Recordings in Perth and later producers like Venetian Snares and Xanopticon and local Melbourne producers like Xian and Anguts . By 2003 he had branched into faster, darker and more breakcore oriented material. After dozens of shows and collaborations with Melbourne breakcore crew "Black Lotus" he released "The Source Of All Shame" on Graylands Records. This also sold out or was given away in little time.

These two albums have been previously unreleased in a decade or more since they were first on CD. Now for the first time they are available online as a collected edition along with one unreleased and one compilation track.

1-12 "Uncomfort" originally released on CD on Graylands Records 2002
13-24 "The Source Of All Shame" originally released on CD on Graylands Records 2004.
25 - unreleased. Previously uploaded to Myspace 2005.
26 - Originally released on "From The Bassment Volume 1" compilation CD on Hell's Bassment Records 2006
